Science-backed strategies to support a thriving legal profession

It’s time for a change.

For too long, the legal profession has been restrained by the mistaken notion that success and well-being are mutually exclusive. That personal fulfillment is the price to pay for professional advancement, and that profitability requires sacrificing workplace culture.

But evidence shows that the very norms and practices we thought would bring success are actually preventing us from reaching our highest possible potential. Turns out that — far from being a distraction — meaning, connection, and joy all fuel peak performance. And creating a culture in which employees feel valued, stimulated, and supported is essential in order to attract and retain top talent.

thriving lawyer at a time

JC Coaching & Consulting works with lawyers and legal organizations that are ready to shake up the status quo, remove the barriers that impede satisfaction in the profession, and propel themselves toward a future that is brighter than they’ve ever imagined.

Drawing on the science of positive psychology, human motivation theory, and transformational leadership, Jordana helps individuals and organizations in the legal profession:

  • Spur connection

  • Realize purpose

  • Fuel engagement

  • Drive performance

  • "Jordana is an amazing mindfulness and well-being leader, educator, strategist, and innovator. She does incredibly powerful trainings and presentations for lawyers and law students while championing holistic practices for everyone in the legal profession. Not only is she a leader who embodies authenticity and appreciation for others, but she is also a team player, a coach, and a visionary, impacting everyone she meets. Whatever she touches is transformational."

Cecilia Loving, SVP, PBS Head of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and Author of “The Power of Inclusion”

  • "Learning from Jordana has been life-changing and my only regret is not having the opportunity to work with her sooner. She has equipped me with strategies to manage and overcome issues I've dealt with my entire life: anxiety, overthinking, self-doubt, and imposter syndrome, etc. I use these strategies on a daily basis—and doing so has made a tremendous positive impact on my career and in my personal life. With Jordana's guidance, I become a better person every single day, approaching life and its challenges with mindfulness, self-compassion and a growth mindset."

Sidney Morales Parodie, Associate, Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP

  • “If you have the chance to work with Jordana – take it! It is rare that you will find such a gifted and knowledgeable speaker in the very specific cross section of self-development and the legal industry that is so very needed. Jordana’s artful delivery of relatable yet science-backed information is truly a superpower.”

DeAnna Englezos, Business Development Innovation Manager, Vinson & Elkins LLP

  • “I am not exaggerating when I say that Jordana's insight and guidance changed my life! She has mastered the perfect balance of enthusiasm and belief in the methods she teaches with an understanding of the challenges attorneys face. I began my journey into positive lawyering skeptical about its efficacy, but Jordana opened my eyes and the results spoke for themselves. She understands that wellness is not a "one size fits all" approach and offered different tactics that I could use in isolation or together to build my own tool belt of positive lawyering skills! After working with Jordana, I feel confident in my ability to manage the stress inherent to the legal field in a healthy manner while staying tethered to my core values and goals.”

    Pamela White, Litigation Associate

  • "My experiences working with Jordana have no doubt helped shape me into the developing attorney I am today. In a profession that puts logic and reasoning on a pedestal, Jordana helped me appreciate, and even love, becoming an attorney in the most unexpected places. I can confidently say that because of Jordana, I’ve found myself on the career path that makes me my best self. I am proud to call Jordana a mentor for life!"

Jordana founded JC Coaching & Consulting to empower lawyers and law students to transform their lives and work for the better.

Sure, she’s got all the qualifications — a J.D. from Yale Law School, a B.A. in Psychology from Yale University, Certifications in Coaching and Applied Positive Psychology, two federal judicial clerkships, and an Adjunct Law Professor of the Year award — but what really sets Jordana apart is her ability to connect with and inspire everyone she works with.

Having spent the bulk of her career working as a lawyer and in legal education at elite institutions, Jordana understands the unique stressors and demands of the legal profession. And as a recovering perfectionist and overachiever, she is excruciatingly familiar with the limiting beliefs that prevent people from reaching their highest potential.

Jordana transformed her own life leveraging the science of positive psychology and human motivation theory, and she has seen these techniques work time and time again in the lives of her clients and students. There is absolutely nothing that lights Jordana up more than helping perfectionists and high-achievers get out of their own way so they can soar higher than they’ve ever imagined possible.

  • “Jordana is highly intelligent and has a deep understanding of the challenges attorneys face to their well-being — she also has a remarkable ability to translate her expertise into engaging and empowering educational content. While she looks intimidating on paper, when you meet Jordana she immediately puts you at ease. She’s very relatable and human in a way that can be hard to find in someone with her credentials.”
